Inxpect: pioneer in SIL2-certified radar safety
Inxpect is an Italian manufacturer (2009) of radar-based safety systems for industrial applications. The company develops and produces radar sensors and safety modules for zone monitoring and presence detection around machines, robot cells and mobile industrial systems such as autonomous vehicles.
Inxpect was the first manufacturer to obtain certification for a radar system for machine safety according to Category 3, PL d and SIL2. By doing so, the company introduced radar as a fully recognised safety technology within industrial machine safety. The systems operate reliably in environments with dust, smoke or dirt where optical sensors have limitations. Thanks to the high detection resolution, even minimal body movements, such as breathing, can be detected.
