Scancon incremental encoders & absolute encoders
Scancon: specialist in encoders
Scancon is specialized in designing, developing and producing incremental and absolute encoders, miniature encoders, measuring wheels, connectors and mounting accessories. Especially in the field of offshore and maritime, oil & gas Scancon offers many options including ATEX solutions.
In 1973 Scancon was founded as an engineering design company. Due to many customer questions for encoders, the company changed their focus soon after establishment completely to designing, developing and producing encoders.
Scancon dual output incremental encoder profibus
The EXAG Profibus / Dual Output incremental encoder is designed for use in ATEX Zone 1 with the possibility of feedback to different devices.
30 bit multi-turn resolution
The encoder has a resolution up to 30 bit multi-turn and an incremental resolution up to 8192 pulses per revolution. Standard equipped with a removable cover for on-site modification and, by means of rotary switches, setting the Profibus address.
Scancon eCODE Encoders SCA94DD
The encoders in the eCODE series by Scancon use a precision interpolating optical system which provides high resolution and accuracy.
Wind power generation
The SCA94DD eCODE encoder is particularly developed to be used in wind power generation on slow rotating direct drive generators. Read more about Scancon SCA94DD eCODE.
ATEX optical incremental encoder Scancon SCH86EX
Scancon SCH86EX optical incremental encoders are designed to provide customers with high-quality performance combined with reduced cost for their hazardous environment applications.
ATEX encoders
These rugged, compact encoders are ATEX, IECEx, Class I Div.2, AEx and EAC Ex certified and ready for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas. Mount them directly into your Top Drive or Draw Works application without the need (or additional cost) of any barrier, isolator or special cable. Why pay more for a bulky, less accurate magnetic encoder? Scancon's rugged SCH86EX models feature an optical system that utilizes a shatterproof polycarbonate disk to provide reliable, accurate resolution.

Scancon SCH68SUB subsea encoder
In recent years, exploration and production companies have focused on designing and installing subsea facilities. One of the many difficulties they encountered was the inability of encoders to work in the subsea environment unless housed in a pressurized container. Scancon recognized the need for an encoder that could operate in this harsh ocean environment and developed the SCH68SUB, the industry's first heavy-duty encoder for use in subsea operations.
Offshore applications
The SCH68SUB is designed for offshore applications that require operation at water depths down to - 6000 meters. Unique among its competitors, the SCH68SUB does not require a pressurized container. The SCH68SUB is a magnetic incremental encoder offering a ø 20 mm or ø 1 inch hollow bore, resolution of 2048 ppr, and an environmental rating of IP 68.
Scancon Mini encoder SCH09
The SCANCON SCH09 is the world's smallest, high-resolution incremental encoder. Designed with SMT and micro-medical applications in mind, the encoder has a diameter of 9 mm and offers line counts up to 1,000 puls/rev (4,000 counts). The encoder can be used in handheld or desktop instrumentation as well as standard pick-n-place machines and other automation equipment.
Differential output
The SCH09 uses true lines on disk rather than interpolated lower line counts to provide increased accuracy. This encoder is supplied with a Differential output, can operate at 12,000 rpm (200 kHz), and has an operating temperature range of -20° C to +70° C. The SCH09 is available for mounting on most major brands of fractional horsepower motors that supply a 2 mm diameter shaft.
Scancon encoder for Wind - Power and Heavy industry
The Scancon SCH94FO is a heavy duty incremental encoder offering Fiber Optic output. The SCH94FO incorporates the rugged design features of Scancon's industry standard SCH94 hollow shaft encoder with the high transmission distance and noise resistant qualities of Fiber Optics.
Dual-output Fiber Optic encoder
The result is the industry's first rugged and reliable, dual-output Fiber Optic encoder. The SCH94FO encoder is designed to operate with both a Digital output and a Fiber Optic output. The customer may also choose to use only the Fiber Optic output.
Profibus and CANopen fieldbus encoders
Profibus is the first international, open and producer independent fieldbus for building, production and process automation (in accordance with EN 50170). CAN stands for Controller Area Network and was developed for applications within the automotive sector and factory automation. The CANopen fieldbus is also used for industrial applications.
