Radar technology

The radar protection system from Inxpect works on the basis of radar technology with two configurable zones: a warning zone that serves as pre-alarm and a danger zone that serves as an actual alarm.

Applications

The radar technology detects movement of operators who are in the warning zone or danger zone. Inxpect offers the solution for applications where moisture, vapor, wood chips, oil, water or flying parts create a difficult situation when creating a safe zone.

Radar based volumetric safety barrier - Inxpect

The radar system from Inxpect detects movement of operators. Where dust, water, smoke, vapor, wood chips, moisture and flying parts normally cause a difficult situation in creating a safe zone, this is not the case with the Inxpect radar protection system. Other products recognize this as a dangerous situation and switch to the safe situation. This is seen by an operator as a faulty interruption or false alarm. By using the radar protection system that ignores small parts and recognizes people, these situations are prevented. Even without a view, the system only responds to people and ignores other objects and substances.

Warning zone and danger zone

The radar system has two configurable zones: warning zone and danger zone. When entering the warning zone, it is possible to give a warning signal or to set the application so that the speed decreases (pre-alarm). Upon detection of an operator in the danger zone, the installation switches directly to safe mode. Read more about the radar security system.

Controle unit - Inxpect

At least two products are used to set up an Inxpect radar security system: a control unit (LBK-C22) and a radar movement sensor (LBK-S01). A maximum of 6 radar movement sensors can be connected to the control unit. When one of the six radar movement sensors detects an operator in the danger zone, the control unit switches to safe mode through the safe relay output.

  • Automatic or manual restart after an interruption
  • Detection sensitivity

By combining the radar security sensor with the control unit, the radar security system is suitable for SIL2, safety category 3, PLd applications in accordance with IEC 61508, EN / IEC62061.

Radar motion sensor - Inxpect

The sensor of the radar protection system from Inxpect detects and monitors movement and moving particles. The radar motion sensor has a minimum distance of 1.2 meters and a maximum distance of 5 meters. To set up a radar security system, at least one radar security sensor is required. A maximum of six radar security sensors can be connected to the control unit of the radar protection system. A safe zone of up to 15 meters can be achieved with six radar security sensors. By combining the radar security sensor with the control unit, the radar security system is suitable for SIL2, safety category 3, PLd applications in accordance with IEC 61508, EN / IEC62061.

Full package

The radar movement sensor and control unit are available as individual products, but also as a package. Packages are available with 1 to 6 radar movement sensors and 1 control unit.
