Software upgrade for VISOR® vision sensors

Software upgrade for VISOR® vision sensors - SensoPartNew functions for the code reader and an updated software with improved statistical functions: SensoPart's VISOR® vision sensors received their comprehensive annual software upgrade in early 2022.

"Our users are particularly impressed with the new design of SensoWeb," explains Marcus Koslik, Product Manager Vision at SensoPart. This software, which is pre-installed on the sensor, enables easy monitoring of connected sensors in a standard browser on any end device, such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone. The new design has improved user navigation and the display mode is variable - in other words, it can be adapted to small and large screen diagonals.

Profit appropriation

In addition, the new SensoWeb software offers improved statistical functions. Previously limited to good/bad overall results, in future it will also be possible to display individual results for each detector in the form of histograms or percentage values. The "Result Processing" detector, which was introduced with the latest software version, now also has additional evaluation options. Whereas previously it was only possible to analyse the results of a job run, now global statistical variables can be used to add up the results and data can be exchanged between different jobs. As such complex analyses are now possible directly in the sensor, PLC programming work is significantly reduced in many applications.

Improved code reader functions

Although the new software has been introduced in all VISOR® variants (VISOR® Object, VISOR® Robotic, VISOR® Code Reader and VISOR® Allround), the current release also improves the functionality of the VISOR® Code Reader. Two important code families (Aztec, micro QR) have been added, as well as further quality parameters (according to ISO/IEC TR 29158 and SEMI T10-0701). This ensures that the code reader is capable of evaluating all 1D and 2D codes commonly used in industrial applications. The evaluation of quality parameters also guarantees a reliable reading process, since deviations in code quality are detected at an early stage.

A new release every year

Not only is the VISOR® hardware constantly evolving - a new sensor platform was introduced just over three years ago - but also the software gets a major upgrade at least once a year. The latest Service Release 2.6 is available to all customers as a free download and ensures that the VISOR® remains one of the most advanced and versatile vision sensors on the market. The wide range of 0.5, 1.5 and 5 megapixel image resolutions (VISOR® series V10, V20 and V50), combined with a comprehensive range of accessories, ensures that the right vision solution can be found for virtually any application.
