State-of-the-art OSSD safety switches
O-Type - Mechan Controls
The new state-of-the-art OSSD safety switches O-Type from Mechan Controls use the latest safety technologies for maximum reliability and safety.
The non-contact switches are designed to operate standalone or can be connected to safety relays or safety controllers to fit perfectly into your safety system. Up to 30 O-Type switches can be connected in series while maintaining safety level PL-e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1.
Each switch continuously checks itself for faults, including short circuits. If a door or entrance gate is left open, the connected switches will flash, allowing the user to quickly identify the fault.
The O-Type series is available with two coding options; OHE1 - encrypted magnetic and ODNK - uniquely encrypted RFID with 4 billion possible code combinations. The coding of both switches follows the guidelines of EN14119.
Simple teaching mode
The 22mm mounting holes, which have become a standard in the safety switch market, and the compact size allow traditional switches to be replaced by a more intelligent O-Type contactless switch.
The simple teach mode ensures a user-friendly installation of the ODNK safety switches. If one of the parts is missing or broken, you can relearn the coding an unlimited number of times. Simply activate the teach facility by setting the supply voltage to 17VDC, this is then indicated by a flashing purple LED. As soon as you bring in the new part, the flashing purple LED will turn off to indicate that the new code has been accepted. Switch back to 24 VDC and enrollment is complete.
Visual diagnostics - Status indication
Both O-Type safety switches are equipped with two RGB LEDs for status indication. They can provide advanced visual diagnostics for all states of the device, including the input and output signals. This means that the user can easily detect errors. The user-friendly design with status LEDs provides visual diagnostics even when mounted in hard-to-reach areas.
The OHE1 features a unique misalignment indication to assist the user in positioning the guard. Just before the actuator moves out of range, LED 2 starts flashing yellow quickly. This is also useful when the gate "drops" and is out of alignment with the switch.
Insensitive to metal objects
The ODNK can be applied from 3 positions. The RFID signal is sent from most directions, allowing for easy installation in difficult mounting positions. The RFID signal is very insensitive to metal chips and other metal objects that interfere with magnetic switches.
Up to IP69K degree of protection
Both O-Type switches are resistant to aggressive cleaning agents and are completely molded in. The robust design has been tested to IP67 and IP69K and is suitable for use in wet environments.
The O-Type safety switches are available with a feature called EDM (external device monitoring), which means that the outputs can be used to safely monitor the status of contacts / contactors without the need for a safety relay or control unit.
Safety output up to 2A
The O-Type series are the only OSSD safety switches on the market with a 2A safety output. This means you can connect larger contactors, which improves compatibility as well as durability. The O-Type switches are suitable for manual or automatic reset.
The O-type safety switch is available in 3 different versions:
Simple: only available with an M12 5-pin connector. This version does not support daisy chain and does not have EDM function.
Standard: available with fixed cable connection or with an M12 8-pin connector. This version supports daisy chain, but does not support EDM function.
Advanced: Comes complete with all features including EDM. You can purchase this version with a fixed cable connection or an M12 12-pin connector.
